Matthew Thomas Hoots, 25, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center, due to a severe blood infection that caused numerous strokes. He was born in Mecklenburg County on December 30, 1998. Near the end of his life, he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. Matthew had boundless energy and excelled with in-line roller skating. He enjoyed bike riding at Salem Lake, being in scouts specially making and racing pinewood derby cars. He loved being outside in the woods and being at the beach. Matthew loved passing the football and playing video games with Dad. His favorite toy was Thomas the Tank Engine. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together to see how they worked. Matthew attended Camden Military school, where ran on the cross-country team. Matthew was a free spirit. He loved Lamborghinis and banana milk shakes. He especially liked Rap/hip hop music. Preceding him in death was his mother, Sandra Hoots, paternal grandparents, Max and Anita Hoots and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Myrtle Ingram. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hayworth Miller Funeral Home in Lewisville. Matthew was adopted at 5 days old. The celebration of his life coincides with this exact date 26 years ago. The service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in the Angell Room with Pastor Steven Ackley officiating. Friends and family are invited to visit one hour prior to the service. Lunch will be provided afterwards.
