Matthew Lane Hobby, 14, of Clemmons, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at his home. He was born January 23, 1997 in Forsyth County to Jack Howard and Reenie Leigh Davis Hobby. Matthew attended West Forsyth High School where he was in the 9th grade. He loved riding his skateboard and doing tricks, loved playing video games and hanging out with his friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his sisters, loved pulling jokes on people and making everyone smile. Surviving are his mother, Reenie Kaad of Naples, FL; his father and stepmother, Jack and Cyndi Hobby of Clemmons; three sisters, Jaclyn Hobby, Alyssa Standley and Jordan Standley, all of Clemmons; his paternal grandparents, John and Rosie Hobby of Leland, NC; his maternal grandfather, Mike Davis and wife Brenda of High Rock Lake; his maternal grandmother, Olivia Strahan-Salgado and husband Fernando of Naples, FL; and a niece, Emily Hobby of Clemmons. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7 at River Oaks Community Church with Youth Minister Chip Herrera officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
