Matthew John Ford

Mr. Matthew John Ford, 26, of Greensboro passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008. He was born July 6, 1982 in Franklin Co., OH to Gregory Thomas and Teresa Wineke Ford. Matt graduated from West Forsyth High School in 2000 and from Elon College in 2004. He was employed by Southland Electrical Supply as Chief Information Officer. He was a former coach at the Spears Family YMCA for youth soccer and basketball and was also an avid NASCAR and Carolina Panthers fan. Matt is survived by his parents, Greg and Terry Ford of Clemmons; a brother, Mark Ford of Winston-Salem; his grandparents, Mildred and Fred Wineke of Port Orange, FL; his girlfriend, Mary Wharton of Greensboro; several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his loving dog Ginger. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Pastor Phillip Squire officiating. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the funeral home.
