Mason Hunter

Mason Hiram Hunter, 17, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. He was born December 13, 2000 in Birmingham, AL.

A junior at West Forsyth High School, Mason was charismatic and tender-hearted with a personality and spirit as big as his smile and eyes. He was affectionate and funny, as quick with a hug as he was a joke and he loved his family and friends dearly. Mason loved to cook and spoke of maybe being a chef one day, or possibly pursuing a career in the military or law enforcement. His potential was as great as incomprehensible and devastating is his loss.

Surviving are his parents, Shauna and Brad Hunter; one brother Michael and one sister, Abby; grandparents, Patsy and Malcom Crawford of Kernersville; a grandmother, Marsha Dayton of Mocksville and her late husband, George Dayton; a grandmother, Carol Hunter and her late husband, Philip Hunter of Winston-Salem and Mason's great grandmother, Betty Anderson of Mocksville. Mason also enjoyed the love of a large extended family of many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Agape Faith Church on Lewisville-Clemmons Road from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018.

A Celebration of Mason's Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Agape Faith Church with Mr. John Bost officiating. Mason will be laid to rest at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.

Memorials may be made to the Clemmons United Methodist Church Compassion Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com. (Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek)
