Winston-Salem- Mrs. Mary Lou Sigmon Wilson, 93, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at her residence. She was born August 8, 1927 in Forsyth County the daughter of Penelope and Adrian L. Sigmon, Sr. Mary Lou grew up in the Reynolda area of Winston-Salem and was the fourth of seven children. Around the age of 21 she met, courted, and married Oren Ray Wilson, a marriage that lasted until his death in 2005. Mary Lou was an active member of Konnoak Hills Moravian Church for many years, where she taught Sunday School, served on the Diener team, was a Brownie troop leader, and worked on many committees. Preceding Mary Lou in death are her parents; her husband; two sisters, Helen S. Sprinkle, Alice P. Sigmon; two brothers, Adrian Sigmon, Jr., Kenneth Sigmon, and a grandson, Shane P. Wilson. She is survived by three children, Susan W. Roediger, Bonnie L. Wilson and Robert A. Wilson all of Winston-Salem. She is also survived by two sisters, Nell S. Fuller and Eleanor S. Elium, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to sincerely thank the Trellis team members who have been so helpful during the months Mary Lou’s health declined. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held in Salem Moravian Graveyard.
