Mary Hockaday York

Mrs. Mary H. York, 85, of Advance, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015.

Mary was born October 21, 1929 in Davie County to the late William Henry Hockaday and Pattie Cope Hockaday. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Franklin D. York and brother, Huston Hockaday.

Left to cherish Mary's memory are her daughters, Debbie Cass (Michael), Robin Vestal (Neil), Patty Willard (Steve Russ); son, Dennis York (Angie); 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Thurmond Hockaday (Flora Mae) and Lester Hockaday (Carolyn).

A celebration of Mary's life will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 3 pm at Cornerstone Christian Church. Burial will follow the service at Macedonia Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 1 pm - 3 pm prior to the service at the church.

Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is assisting the family.
