Mrs. Mary Scales Wishon, 87, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, October 30, 2009. She was born July 24, 1922 in Forsyth County to Kenneth Sebastian and Verlie Moser Scales. Mrs. Wishon was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. She was a member of TOPS Club and loved working in her greenhouse. She also enjoyed working with her husband in his car parts business. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Lee Wishon, Sr., an infant daughter, Joan Marie Wishon and two brothers, Bob and Ken Scales. Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Wall (Jimmy) of Winston-Salem; a son, Bob Wishon (Rachel) of Cary; three grandchildren, Lee Wishon (Kelly) of Cary, Jim Wall (Lavendar) of Lexington, Susan Shaw (Michael) of Winston-Salem; six great grandchildren; Darius Shaw, Dakota Wall, Jacob Shaw, Maggie Wall, Benjamin Wishon and Isabella Wishon; a sister, Peggy Miller (Clyde); two brothers, Gene Scales (Joyce), Bill Scales (Betty); two sisters-in-law, Peggy Scales and Nora Scales; two brothers-in-law, Norman Whiteheart and Paul Lucas; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m Monday at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Dr. Earl Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, W-S, N.C. 27103, Mt.
