Mary White

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Powers White, 68, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. White enjoyed reading and walking in the rain. She was a humble woman who loved the Lord. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Blaine Powers and Thelma Hall Powers; daughter, Haselene Vaught; and sister, Bobbie Stevens. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas E. White Sr.; four children: Tommy White Jr. (Kathy), JoAnna Young (James), James White (Audra), and Elizabeth Anne White; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three siblings: Sherman Jr., Timothy, and Sherry; and son-in-law, Pastor Floyd Vaught. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 11, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Bishop Floyd D. Vaught and Rev. Lee Mitchem officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 10, at the funeral home.
