Mary Brown Wessinger

Mrs. Mary Brown Wessinger, 83, of Lewisville died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born November 24, 1925 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Walter Alexander and Pearle Patterson Brown. Mrs. Wessinger was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church and had been a teacher in the kindergarten Sunday Church School for more than twenty years. She was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Mary Ann Wessinger in 1971, a sister, Kathryn Brown Hughes and a brother, Walter Glenn Brown. She is survived by her husband, James A. Wessinger of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David A. and BenitaWessinger of Round Hill, VA; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Joann Brown Steiger of Greenville, S.C.; three nieces, Jane Brown Cantrell, Kristen Brown of Greenville, S.C. and Mary Kathryn Lamb Belton, S.C. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Augsburg Lutheran Church with Rev. Shirley Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
