Mary Knight Watson

KERNERSVILLE-Mary Knight Watson, 81, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. She was born July 16, 1929 in Rockingham Co. to the late Emery and Ethel Parrish Knight. Mary was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, Bible Study Group, and Dale Pridgen Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Bud Knight. Surviving are her three daughters, Peggy Smith and husband, Smitty, Diane Hicks and husband, Michael, Angie Thomas and husband, Jeffrey; three sons, Jerry Watson, Mike Watson, Jeff Watson and wife, Karen; five grandchildren, Shane Watson and wife, Sheila, Deanna Watson, Ginger Johnson, John Watson, Jacob Watson; two great-grandchildren, Abby and Chloe Johnson; two special sisters, Hannah Dodson, Susie Watson; two brothers, Buster and Bill Knight and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Dean, Dr. Brooks Hunt, Rev. Neal Eller, officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Union Grove Baptist Church, 5424 Union Grove Rd., Oak Ridge, NC 27310. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
