Mary Jane Whitfield Wall

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Mary Jane Whitfield Wall, 91, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mary was born on July 7, 1921 in Forsyth County to the late Edward and Daisy Bell VanHoy Whitfield. Mary was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was very devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Wall; four sisters; two brothers; and one son-in-law, Bruce Swaim. Surviving are three daughters, Vicki Brown (Ben), Susan Swaim and Robin Hobson (Jimmy); one son, Allen Whitfield (Jan); seven grandchildren, Angie, Geoff, Chris, Stephanie, Wendy, Cyndy and Amber; and nine great grandchildren, Preston, Haley, Brittany, Ashley, Lanie, Lindsey, Camryn, Caylee and 'Baby Bean'. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Stephen Martin officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Kevin Tuttle, 728 Piney Grove Road, Kernersville, NC 27284.
