Mary Ola Arrington Tilley

Mrs. Mary Ola Arrington Tilley, 84, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at her home. She was born on January 23, 1930 in Surry County to Mattie Cook Arrington and Roy Arrington. Mrs. Tilley was a member of Rural Hall Baptist Church. She comes from a long line of family and close tie friends from Surry County and throughout our region. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and childhood sweetheart, Bernie L. Tilley. She is survived by one son, Michael D. Tilley; one granddaughter, Lynde Tilley Carlyle; three great grandchildren, Chandler, Callie, and Conner; Special niece, Patricia Sheppard Merritt; three maternal nieces, Katie Galyean, Florence Badgett, and Marie Vester; three nephews, J.R. Arrington, Wade Arrington, and Wilbur Arrington; sister-in-law, Louise Tilley. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Skyline Memorial Gardens with Dr. Don Berry officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
