Mary Frances Spach Swaim, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2011. She was born April 12, 1916 in Forsyth County to the late Jarvis Wilson Spach and Lillie Mae Purcell Spach. She was a member of Sprague Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Swaim spent much of her time helping her husband at Swaim's Lunch in Winston-Salem and she enjoyed working in her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence D. Swaim, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Arrington and husband Wes; a son Lawrence Swaim, Jr. and wife Dianna; three grandchildren, Wes Arrington, Jr., Greg Arrington, and Jennifer Swaim; five great grandchildren, Justin, Krista, Kayla, Tori, and Jonathan; a special friend, Norma Blakeley. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Peter Cain and the Rev. Walter Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
