Mary Ruth Stroud

Mrs. Mary Ruth Shuler Stroud, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 22, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born August 2, 1947 in Iredell County to the late David and Kate Foster Shuler. Mrs. Stroud was a graduate of Mitchell and Catawba College with a major in Christian Education. She was active as a teacher at Center United Methodist Church and continued through her adult life. Mary Ruth taught at Forest Hill United Methodist Church as Christian Education Director. She became a member at Mocks United Methodist Church. Mary Ruth dedicated her life to serving God, family and the community. She is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittany. She is survived by her husband, Jerry W. Stroud of the home; one son, Jerry W. Stroud, Jr. and wife Ginger of Mocksville; one daughter, Melissa Ballsieper and husband Mike of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Deserae, Tori, Maddie and Levi and one brother, David Eugene Shuler and wife Jan of Mocksville. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Mocks United Methodist Church by Rev. Bill Taylor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mocks United Methodist Church Missions Fund, P.O.
