Mary Edith Blankenship Stepp

DENTON - Mary Edith Blankenship Stepp, 76, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice Home. She was born on November 11, 1939 in Wyoming County, WV to James Sherman and Donzil Paynter Blankenship.

Mary owned and operated Mary's Pillows for 26 years. She loved to garden and enjoyed cooking for her entire family. She loved to spend time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one son, John Stepp; and two brothers, Lee and Sherman Blankenship.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Berman H. Stepp; a daughter, Pamela J. Stepp; two sons, Michael L. Stepp, Sr. and wife Vicky, James M. Stepp, Sr. and wife Cathy; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; five brothers, James Donald Blankenship and wife Annie, William Boyd Blankenship and wife Susie, Teddy Junior Blankenship and wife Shelia, Clettie Dean Blankenship and wife Denice and Densil Blankenship; four sisters Myrtle Jean Lambert, Joyce Elaine Johnson and husband Paul, Hazel Marie Cook and husband Larry, Linda Lou Mitchell and husband Kevin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Taylors Grove Church with Pastor Tommy Tysinger officiating. Friends may visit from 4-4:45 p.m. at Taylors Grove Church, 205 Badin Lake Road, New London, NC 28127.
