Mary Louise “Betty” Graves Stanley

STANLEY - RURAL HALL Mrs. Mary Louise ""Betty"" Graves Stanley passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born October 9, 1932 in Cass County, MN to the late Peter and Nancy Graves. Mrs. Stanley was of the Quaker Faith and retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 30 years of service. She enjoyed Nascar, bowling, traveling and cooking. Mrs. Stanley was the former owner of Stanley Family Restaurant. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Stanley Sr. and ten siblings. Surviving are four children, William Howard ""Bill"" Stanley Jr. of the home, Thomas Harold ""Tommy"" Stanley of Winston-Salem, James Raleigh ""Jimmy"" Stanley (Debra) of King and Karen Stanley Rankin (Kelly) of Kernersville, NC; four grandchildren, Michael Brian Flippin of Winston-Salem, Joelle Stanley Lawson (Jeff) of King, Kristen Flippin Nickles (Robbie) of Winston-Salem and Erin Elizabeth Stanley of Rural Hall; three step-grandchildren, Jason Rankin, Patrick ""PK"" Rankin Jr. and Lisa Ryan; five great-grandchildren, Brea Lawson, Olyvia Lawson, Tyler Flippin, McKayla Flippin and Brianna Flippin; four step-great-grandchildren, Chase Smith, Stephanie Smith, Maggie Smith and Samuel Smith; one sister, Ruth Graves Bryant of Clayton, IN; and a special great-granddog, Banjo Nickles. A Graveside Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13 at Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Mitchell Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
