Mary Parrish Taylor Smith

Winston Salem - Mary Parrish Taylor Smith, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born November 9, 1925 in Rockingham Co. to the late Eugene Odell and Ada Mae James Parrish. Mary was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Porter, Tom, Rex, Haywood and Sweet. Surviving are her two daughters, Janice Taylor Yokley (Maurice), Donna Taylor Jamison (Willie) all of Winston Salem; one son, Michael Taylor (Lesli) of Henderson, NV; step-daughter, Mary Ellen Crews (Tump); step-son, Donald Taylor; sister, Nancy Parrish; and one brother, Bunk Parrish; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2013 at Union Grove Baptist Church in Oak Ridge with Pastor John Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to N.C.
