Mary Smith Simmons

COLFAX-Mary Smith Simmons, 74, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009 at her home. She was born April 23, 1934 in Guilford Co. to the late Harry and Della Jackson Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Simmons. Surviving are her husband Billy Ray Simmons of the home; a son, Tom Simmons and wife Deanie of Colfax; two daughters, Tonia S. Mills and husband Brad of Oak Ridge, Sonia S. Plaster of Colfax; four grandchildren, Alex, Whitney, Cole, and Mason; two brothers, Harry Smith, Jr. of Greensboro, Charles Smith of Kernersville; two sisters, Lucille Alley of Summerfield, and Frances Smith of Colfax. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home Kernersville Chapel with the Rev. Pete Kunkle and the Rev. Wayne Branch officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, January 23, 2009 at the funeral home.
