Mary Sidden Siceloff

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Sidden Siceloff, 91, of Midway, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mary was born on January 17, 1924 in Wilkes County, NC to Henry Talton Sidden and Elizabeth McCann Sidden. She was a faithful member of Midway United Methodist Church as well as a member of United Methodist Womens Circle. She was a distinguished member of the Midway United Methodist Church Chicken Pie Makers. Mary was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of VFW Post 1134. She was the owner and operator of Van Carol Kennels in Midway, NC. Mary was also a member of North Davidson Extension Homemakers. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Van Wert Siceloff, Jr.; one stepson, Larry Siceloff; three sisters, Edna Martin, Florence West, and Grace Allred; and one brother, Walter Sidden. She is survived by three children, Skip Dowell and wife Linda of Southport, Gail Dowell of Winston-Salem, and Lynn Dowell Ishaya also of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Michael Beshears and wife Sharon, Mark Beshears, Heather Portaro and husband Jeff, and Sherrie Barr; five great grandchildren, Ryan and Ashlyn Beshears, Mason Beshears, and Alaina and Grayson Portaro; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Sidden. A funeral service for Mary will be held at 4:00pm Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Midway United Methodist Church with Dr. Barry Lemons and Amanda Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Midway United Methodist Church ladies Sunday school class which Mary attended and also to the loving staff and residents at Creekside Terrace.
