Mary Kathlyn Kaka" Hoots Reavis

Kathlyn ""KaKa"" Hoots Reavis, 85, of King, formerly of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born March 26, 1925 in Davie County to William Hobart and Grace Foster Hoots. Ms. Reavis was a member of Forsyth Park Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir for many years. She was retired from the Winston-Salem Journal with many years of faithful service. She loved Wake Forest sports and was an avid fan of football and basketball. She also loved to travel. She was a loving sister, and especially to all her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Edith Hoots and Ruth Wright; and a brother, William Hobert Hoots, Jr. Surviving are one brother, Vernon Hoots and wife Jackie of Winston-Salem; one sister, Ramona Hill of Statesville; a sister-in-law, Kate Hoots of Winston-Salem; and several loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11 at Forsyth Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Brant Hoots and the Rev. John Krivsky officiating. Burial will follow in Joppa Cemetery, Hwy 601, Mocksville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Kate B.
