Mary Joyce Perryman

Ms. Perryman, 80, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017. She was born May 24, 1936 in Stokes County to the late Thomas Virgil Joyce and Nellie Lee Jackson Joyce. Ms. Perryman retired from Pellcare with 18 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Perryman enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She was well known for her meatloaf and potato salad. Ms. Perryman loved her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Ms. Perryman was preceded in death by the love of her life, Carson Oxendine and one son, Billy Edwards. She is survived by three daughters: Jackie Wages (Tim), Tywona Cortes, and Eva Locklear; three sons: Jimmy Oxendine (Sarah), Leon Oxendine, and Micky Oxendine (Diane); 23 grandchidren; 20 great-grandchidren; sister, Della Ayers; and brother, Robert Joyce (Barbara). A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with her son, Pastor Jimmy Oxendine officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 12, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
