Mrs. Mary Marie Dora Oates, 79, of Winston-Salem died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Pioneer Community Hospital of Stokes. She was born May 24, 1935 in Las Cruces, NM, the daughter of the late Pete and Josephine Mastes Jurado. Mrs. Oates was retired from Stroh's Brewing Company. In addition to her parents she, was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Oates. Survivors include one daughter, Marcia Scott and husband, Rodney; two grandchildren, Alisha Scott and Joseph Scott; and one great grandchild, Leah Saunders all of Winston-Salem; and one sister, Norine Naranjo and two nephews, Robert Naranjo and Patrick Naranjo all of Albuquerque, NM. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
