Mary Mendenhall

Mrs. Mary “Bernice” Sells Mendenhall passed away June 27, 2019, with loving care being provided by Hospice/Trellis Care of Winston-Salem. Bernice was born in Forsyth County to the late George Sells and Flora Hines Sells on February 26, 1928. On November 1, 1947, she was married to Cleo “Pete” Mendenhall who preceded her in death on December 26, 2012. She is survived by her children, Nancy M. Loggins (Roger) and Gary Mendenhall (Brenda); grandchildren, Amanda Woodle; Tim Mendenhall; Steven Mendenhall (Jennifer); great grandson, Weston Mendenhall. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, July 1, 2019 at Canaan United Methodist Church, 1760 Shady Grove Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC., with the Rev. Jay Bowers officiating. Mrs. Mendenhall will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial in the fellowship hall.
