Mary Bordell McCurdy

Kernersville - Mrs. Mary Bordell McCurdy, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Hospice Home of High Point. She was born in West Derry, Pennsylvania, on October 13, 1922 to the late Lawrence and Hilda Kelly Bordell. Mary was devoted to her family as a homemaker and was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church in Colfax. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. Surviving are her loving husband, Clarence ""Bud"" McCurdy; daughters, Goldie Jones (Clair), Delores Gindlesperger (Bill), Bernice Johnson (Roscoe) and Carol Peters (Chuck); one brother, George Bordell; two sisters, Ruth Baker and Kathrine Yankevich; seven grandchildren, Sharon Lane, Debbie Baker, David Gindlesperger, Scott Gindlesperger, Michelle Hooker, Natalie Thrower and Ray Peters; fifteen great grandchildren, Beth White, Caleb Lane, Adam Pope, Ashley Plourd, Zachary Baker, Rebekka Baker, Nathan Drew Baker, Gideon Baker, Levi Baker, Brittany Bullock, Bryant Gindlesperger, Brennon Gindlesperger, Katelin Gindlesperger, Morgan and Ashley Peters; four great-great grandchildren, Grace White, Taylor White, Titus White and Cheyenna Plourd. A funeral service will be conducted at Smith Grove Baptist Church, 2707 Sandy Ridge Road, Colfax, NC, at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 with Pastor Chuck Peters, Pastor Bill Gindlesperger and Rev. Roscoe Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, at the church.
