WALKERTOWN – Mary Ruth Mabe, 94, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Kernersville Medical Center. Ruth was born on March 1, 1928 in Forsyth County to Oscar and Susan Fulp Stoltz. Ruth enjoyed traveling and camping. She also spent a lot of time gardening - harvesting fruits and vegetables, that complimented her wonderful talent of cooking. Ruth loved spending time with her family and friends. If you visited her, you never left empty handed, as she was always eager to share her food crafts.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Denson Mabe; and eight brothers and sisters, Earl Stoltz, Margaret Herman, Ed Stoltz, Phil Stoltz, Howard Stoltz, Jean Boyles, Barbara Hutchins, and Aubrey Stoltz.

Surviving are two daughters, Elaine Gentry (husband, Glenn) and Patty Mabe; two sons, Denny Mabe (wife, Sharon) and Keith Mabe (wife, Susan); four grandchildren, Shelley Pitts, Meredith Principe (husband, Craig), Drew Mabe (wife, Ruthy) and Michael Mabe (wife, Kristin); five great grandchildren, Alex and Ryan Pitts, Matthew Principe, Mikey and Charlie Mabe.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s charity of choice.

Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
