Mrs. Mary Leonard Long, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at her home. She was born in Forsyth County to Walter K. and Etta Sink Leonard. Mrs. Long was a dedicated member of the South Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1957. Mary was one of the kindest, most patient people who lived a good Christian life. She was always positive and thinking of others and was a strength and a source of guidance to her family. She left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Hollyn A. Long; two sisters, Mildred Hicks and Vada Wishon and one brother, W.K. Leonard. Surviving are a daughter, Carol Hutchens of Winston-Salem; a son, Steven Long (Sheila) of Salisbury, MD; six grandchildren, Bobby Hutchens of Lexington, Lisa Thomas (Dr. Christopher Thomas) of Greenville, NC, Kenneth Hutchens (Robin) of Lexington, Abigail Ebron (Tyler) of Laurel, DE, Morgan Long, Salisbury, MD and Peter Long of Salisbury, MD; seven great grandchildren, Taylor Loaces, Kyle Hutchens, Kody Hutchens, Carly Creason, Trey Hutchens, Christopher Thomas and Olivia Thomas. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Waughtown Cemetery with Toby W. Crafford officiating. There is no stated visitation.
