Mary Edna Lovingood Jenkins

KERNERSVILLE- Mary Edna Lovingood Jenkins, 92, a faithful mother, homemaker and servant of God, passed away at home Wednesday, February 24, 2010. She was born April 29, 1917 in Swain Co. to the late Joseph and Bessie Smiley Lovingood. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Wesleyan Church and taught Sunday school. Edna was an avid gardener and she loved her plants and flowers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leroy Jenkins ""Papaw""; one brother, Tom Lovingood; and one sister, Maude Reeves. Surviving are her children, Tom and Rhonda Jenkins of Lockport, IL, Raelene Morris of Kernersville, and Joe and Belinda Jenkins of Union, SC; five grandchildren, Robbie and Julie Morris, Katie and Skip of Kernersville, Fay Jenkins of Wernersville, PA, Faith and Ed Medrano, Beto and Iris of Kernersville,Wesley Jenkins of Union, SC, and Beth Morris of Kernersville; two sisters, Pauline Cope of Asheville, and Lois Robinson of Bryson City. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, February 26, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:30 am Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
