Mary Jane Guyer Davis passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024 in Gainesville, GA at the age of 91. Born on November 26, 1932 in Wilkes County, NC, she was widely recognized for her poise, grace, and charm, endearing qualities to all who knew her.
Mary Jane was a Godly woman, known for her compassionate nature and dedication to her faith. She was a faithful member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church where she actively participated in various ministries. Her passion for mentoring youth especially young women was evident through her involvement in Sunday School, Girls in Action (GA), and the Women's Missionary Union (WMU). Mary Jane also contributed her time to Meals on Wheels and cherished singing in the church choir.
In addition to her religious and charitable activities, Mary Jane prided herself in hard work. She worked many years at AT&T where she retired. Dedication, discipline and perseverance were some of the many qualities that Mary Jane and Walton instilled in their children that will be felt for generations to come.
Mary Jane was known for her skills as a gracious hostess and an excellent cook, frequently gathering friends and family around her table and at church gatherings. She was also an enthusiastic traveler, often exploring new places with her friends and her husband, Robert Davis, after retiring. Her ultimate passion though was spending time with her large family. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she had many aunts, uncles and cousins that she treasured. She was happiest in the presence of her loved ones and would move mountains to be together and care for anyone in need.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Armstrong and Valley Gray; her husbands, Walton Guyer and Robert Davis; and her son, Mark Guyer. She is survived by her son, Richard Guyer (Sybil), daughter-in-law Pam Guyer, stepson Gary Davis, stepdaughter Carol Brothers; grandchildren Ashley Guyer, and Dare Guyer (Ryan Howell), Walt Guyer, Sarah Barone (Fran), Amanda Guyer Trivino; step-grandchildren Doug Brothers (Andrea), Steve Brothers, and David Brothers (Tina); and great-grandchildren Carter and Brooks Howell, Lily and Townes Guyer, Beppe Barone, George Trivino, step great grandchildren Haley and Clarissa Brothers, Jeremy and Korben Brothers.
A special thank you and appreciation for the loving care Mary Jane received from her Manor Lake family and friends. She loved them all.
