Mary Viola Rich Huffman

Mary Viola Rich Huffman, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully April 20, 2013. Mary V. was born in Burke County on October 14, 1924 to Renus E. and Annie Cook Rich, Sr. She loved music and enjoyed traveling. She also loved her cocker spaniels. Mary V. was a very faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hughes M. Huffman, Sr.; and a daughter Sarah Patricia Huffman. She is survived by her son Hughes M. Huffman, Jr. and wife Debora; two grandchildren, Marc and Monica Huffman, all of Los Angeles, CA; a brother Renus Rich, Jr.; a sister Ruth Blanton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, April 22, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Gary Byrum officiating. Interment will be held 3:00 pm at Burke Memorial Park, 2506 Burke Memorial Park Rd, Morganton, NC 28690. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
