Mary Huckaby

Mrs. Mary Kate “Katie” Huckaby, 90, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021. She was born December 4, 1930, in Lyman, South Carolina to the late Rufus Lister and Sally McCoy Lister. Katie was a loving wife, Mom, and Nana. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain where she was a part of the choir and the prayer shawl ministries. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, and playing the piano. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William F. “Huck” Huckaby. She is survived by her three children, William F. Huckaby, Jr., Richard K. Huckaby (Lisa), and Karen L. DeRosa (Greg); six grandchildren, Will, Kendall, Ross, Sarah, Danielle, and Gregory; and four great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00PM Friday, October 15, 2021, at Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain, P.O. Box 818, Pilot Mountain, NC, 27041.
