Mary Louise Moore Hendrix

HENDRIX - TOBACCOVILLE Mrs. Mary Louise Moore Hendrix passed away Friday, July 06, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth County on March 18, 1920 to the late Nancy Phandora Vest Moore and Robert Aldine Moore. Mrs. Hendrix graduated from Rural Hall High School in 1937, where she played basketball. On January 26, 1946 she married William Clifton Hendrix. Together they had two sons and Mrs. Hendrix enjoyed being a homemaker and raising their children. She was a lifetime member of Jefferson Church of Christ and was its oldest living member. She enjoyed teaching the Junior Girls Sunday School Class for many years. Mrs. Hendrix was a special Mema who loved supporting all of her grandchildren's activities. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hendrix was preceded in death by her husband, William Clifton Hendrix in 1987; two sisters: Delphine and Phandora; and eleven brothers: Carl, Gray, Herbert, Vernon, Augustus, Kenneth, Russell, R.A., Eugene, Mack and William. Surviving are her two sons: Michael Moore Hendrix (Pam) of Tobaccoville and Robert Gregory Hendrix (Betsey) of Pfafftown; two grandchildren: Eric Clifton Hendrix and Leslie Hendrix Freeman (Andy) all of Winston-Salem; four sisters-in-law: Mozelle Hendrix, Arbutus Hendrix, Katheryn Kiger and Jane Crutchfield; and also, numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Hendrix will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Jefferson Church of Christ with Jerry Simpkins, Minister and Steve Cook, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service.
