Mary Harwood

Ms. Mary Susan Miller Harwood, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2021, her 77th birthday.

Mary Sue was born July 12, 1944, in Miami County, OH to Walter and Naomi Miller.  She worked in the banking industry for many years and was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, and with her caring personality, she always lent a hand where needed there.  She deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as time in her garden and flowers.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary Sue is survived by her son, Michael Harwood; grandson, Jared Harwood; brother, John Henry “Jack” Miller II and wife Jeanne; niece, Margaret “Maggie” Claire Caldwell; and Jared’s mother, Heather Harwood.

A funeral service for Mary Sue will be held Sunday, July 18, 2021, at 2 PM at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
