Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Greene

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth ""Lib"" Martin Greene, 91, entered into the more immediate presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Mrs. Greene was born December 22, 1923 to Angus Kemper and Lucille Dickens Martin of High Point, N.C. Mrs. Greene earned degrees from Montreat College and UNC-Greensboro. She began her teaching career at South Fork School where she met her future husband of 59 years, Gene Harris Greene, who preceded her in death in 2010. Mrs. Greene continued teaching home economics at Southwest High School and West Forsyth High School, retiring in 1974. Mrs. Greene was an active member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and Bethel Bible Series, and serving many years as Acolyte. She was a recent resident of Homestead Hills and more recently Trinity Elms. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother Bobby Martin of Delaware and sister Marian Martin Cottingham of High Point. She is survived by two sisters-in-law Edrie Greene Brunt of Winston-Salem and Carmen Greene Price of Florida, numerous nieces, nephews, and so many others whose lives she touched. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. at New Philadelphia Moravian Church. Interment will follow the service in the church graveyard. Visitation in the church fellowship hall will follow the service.
