Mary Yates Govern

Mrs. Mary Louise Yates Govern, 78, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 16, 2015. She was born in Louisville, KY on November 15, 1937 the daughter of the late Edward Clifton Yates and Mary Elizabeth Spann Yates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son; Dwayn Govern.
She is survived by her husband Edmund John Govern, Sr., a daughter; Terri Creed (Davis), two sons; Edmund John Govern, Jr. and Byron Keith Govern, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three sisters; Doris Jean Oller, Joann Corbin and Shirley K. Taylor, two brothers; Edward L. Yates and William Lee Yates (Sharon) and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Crestview Memorial Park Mausoleum in Rural Hall with Chaplin, Rickey Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Saturday evening at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
