Mary Bryant Goforth

Mrs. Mary Bryant Goforth, 88, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Brookridge Retirement Community. She was born May 8, 1923 in Burke County, the daughter of the late, Charles Wesley and Lela Miller Bryant. Mrs. Goforth was a member of Konoak Hills Moravian Church and was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hugh Goforth, two sisters, Lois B. Vestal and Maxine B. Allen; two brothers, Kenneth W. Bryant and Hubert Bryant and two sisters-in-law, Nell Bryant and Stacy Bryant . Survivors include her son, Gerald Goforth and wife, Ann of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Angie G. Bethea and husband, Eric of Lexington and Rick G. Goforth and wife, Jackie of King; five great grandchildren, Noah Bethea, Chloe Bethea, Gracelyn Goforth, Olivia Goforth and Eden Goforth; two brothers, William Bryant and Lester Bryant and wife, Norma Jean of Yadkinville; one sister-in-law, May Bryant of Boonville and one brother-in-law, Junis Allen of Boonville; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church with Rev. John D. Rights officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:45 PM. A private family graveside service will follow in Salem Moravian Graveyard.
