Mary Jane Scearce Gentry

Mrs. Mary Jane Scearce Gentry, 97, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Universal Healthcare of North Raleigh. She was born November 18, 1915 in Virginia. Mrs. Gentry was a member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, James ""Ray"" Gentry; and son, Donald Ray Gentry. She is survived by one son, Jim Gentry and wife Connie of Wake Forest; four grandchildren, Russell and Molly Gentry, Todd and Donna Gentry; a great-granddaughter, Zoe Gentry; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Ridge United Methodist Church, 3620 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
