Mary Veatrice Landingham Elliott

Mrs. Mary Veatrice Landingham Elliott, 86, formerly of Kernersville passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at her residence at Salemtowne Retirement Community. She was born August 26, 1924 in Forsyth County to Grover Cleveland and Nellie Mae Pike Landingham. Mrs. Elliott was a member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church for the past 40 years. First and foremost she loved her family and was completely devoted to them. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Gregory Elliott, Sr.; two brothers, Johnny Landingham and G.C. Landingham, Jr. Surviving are three sons, Greg Elliott and wife Janice of Matthews, Michael Elliott of Kernersville and Randy Elliott of Wallburg; three grandchildren, Jill E. Tarr and husband Andy, Johnathan and Matthew Elliott; three great grandchildren, Bryson, Caden and Nathan Tarr; four sisters, Geneva Mosteller and Evelyn Beeson, both of Winston-Salem, Blanche Redding and Bobbie Easter, both of Kernersville; one brother, Harry Lee Landingham of S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 22 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Patricia Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday October 21 at the funeral home.
