KERNERSVILLE-Mary Alice Turner Diedrich, 75, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born April 23, 1940 in Washington, DC to the late Raymond Benson and Mabel King Turner.
Mary was proud that she was raised in Washington, DC. She loved to cook, travel, play cards and tell stories. Mary was always active in the church and civic organizations. Most of all she loved spending time with her family; she was the most caring and giving person in the world.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, J. Robert Turner; sister, Margaret L. Ross and son-in-law, Brian James
Surviving are her daughter, Beth James; sons, Mark (Debbie) Diedrich and Steve (Cheri) Martin; grandchildren, Bridgette, Brian, Kylie, Stevie, John, Savannah and Ben; great-grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Evan, Merick, Ryan, JT and Kaitlyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church. A service celebrating her life will be held at a later date in Maryland.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary Volunteer Fire Department of Baden, 16608 Brandywine Rd., Brandywine, MD 20613 or Pine Grove United Methodist, 1018 Piney Grove Rd., Kernersville, NC 27284.
