DAVIS Winston-Salem - Mrs. Mary Ellen Hall Davis, 74, passed away Monday, August 10, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 16, 1934 in Surry County, NC to the late Roby Alexander Hall and Mecie Ellen Stanley Hall. Mary was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, and of the Adventurers Sunday School class. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey Scott and Rex Hall; and one sister, Helen Denny. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Joe Davis of the home; her daughter, Lisa Davis Bailey, husband Warren, and a special K-9 grandson, Parker of Winston-Salem; and several nephews and nieces. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend. Mary had a giving heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. A heart-felt thank you goes out to the family and friends who provided support throughout the past difficult months. Hugs and thank yous are extended to the entire 9th floor staff at Forsyth Medical Center. You are all very special people. The burial service will be conducted at 5:30 P.M. Thursday, August 13 at Forsyth Memorial Park followed by a 7:00 P.M. memorial celebration at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville in the Family Life Center with the Rev. Eddie Honeycutt and the Rev. Terry Rausch, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, Family Life Center Fund, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. (Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel)
