Mary Middleton Davis

Walkertown - Mrs. Mary Middleton Davis, 93, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born January 1, 1919 in Roanoke, VA to the late James and Myrtle Ramsey Middleton. Mrs. Davis was a member of Walkertown First Baptist Church and had just celebrated her 93rd birthday. Mary loved to sing and play the piano. She had a passion for life, a strong spirit, and loved being around people. She will be dearly missed. Over the years she had worked for RJR Brook Cove Plant and One Hour Martinizing before becoming a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clint A. Davis; a son, Gene Hice; a daughter, Betty Jean Davis; and two sisters, Margaret Spangler and Kathleen Morris. Surviving are her children, Richard ""Dickie"" Davis and wife, Brenda, Valeria D. Hester and husband, Norman, and Kenneth ""Kenny"" Davis and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Donnie Davis, Sharon Hester and fiancé, Scott, Brad Davis and wife, Laura; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Jade Davis; and many nieces and nephews. Thanks to a special person in her life, Wanda Parnell and all her many friends and neighbors over the years. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Tim Sapp and Rev. Philip Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in Walkertown First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the funeral home.
