Winston-Salem--Mrs. Mary Hubbard Coleman, 84, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday December 9, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mary was born in Elizabethton, TN. on October 11, 1927 the daughter of Austin and Geneva Hubbard. She moved to Winston-Salem in 1959 with her husband Thomas ""TA"" Coleman who preceded her in death on July 10, 1989. Mary worked at Crown Drugstore for over 11 years. She enjoyed traveling, bingo and spending time with her family. Mary attended Central Tabernacle Church and was of Baptist faith. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters Maggie Babb, Ann Shell, Stella Sizemore and brothers Luther, Bill and Alfred Hubbard. Surviving are one son, Tony D. Coleman and his wife Ginger of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Barbara Bennett and her husband Bris of Welcome; three grandchildren, Thomas ""Tommy"" Coleman and his wife Mollie of Kernersville, Chris Coleman and his wife Trisha of Winston-Salem and April Breed and her husband Neil of Kernersville; six great-grandchildren, Thomas ""Tom"" Coleman, Tate Coleman, Camden Coleman, Alyssa Coleman, Coleman Breed & Kacee Breed; 3 sisters, Shelby Cranford and Brenda Poteat, both of Hickory and Charlotte Hyder of Elizabethton, TN; 1 brother, Jerry Hubbard of Phoenix, AZ. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday December 11, 2011 at 3 pm in the Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel by Pastor Larry Hatfield, Pastor Sandra Bovender & Neil Breed, Life Celebrant. Private family interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and all other times at the home of Tony & Ginger Coleman 2940 Durant Drive Winston Salem. Memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the 9th floor Innovative Unit nurses Sandi, Brandy, Nikki and Trina as well as 8th floor Palliative Care nurses Alisa, Pat, Sherona, Geniese, Rachael and also Pastor Dave.
