Mary Beth Bowden

Mary Beth Bowden, 60, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 17, 1951, to Betty Hege Bowden and Albert Wilson Bowden. Mary Beth was educated in Winston-Salem in special education classes at Amos Cottage and other locations. From 1979 until 2003, she lived at the Stockton Street location of Group Homes of Forsyth, Inc. From 2003 to the present, she was a resident at Magnolia Creek Assisted Living. She was a charter member of Sedge Garden Baptist Church, and through the years was a part of special education Sunday School classes at Knollwood Baptist Church and Oldtown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronnie. Surviving are two brothers, Charles Bowden and wife Dot, and Richard Bowden and wife Darla; nieces and nephews, Tina Craddock (Rickey), Robert Bowden (Bronwyn), Paul Bowden (Meg), and Donna Nash (Brody); great-nieces and great-nephews, Sarah, Jesse and Rebecca Craddock, Luke and Currin Bowden, Asher Bowden and Paisley Nash; Uncle Charlie and Aunt Nell Hege; and many cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Tim Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Waughtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
