Mary Elizabeth Green Bolton died February 15, 2022. She was born June 3, 1933 to Benjamin and Lillie Rymer Green in Guernsey County, Ohio. She grew up in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She spent memorable summers on the Rymer family farm (the Jug) in Tyler County, WV. There she was surrounded by siblings Virginia, Ben Jr., Roy, and Martha who predeceased her and brother James Green of Missouri who survives her.
In 1952 Mary moved to Winston-Salem to attend Piedmont Bible College where she also met and married Charles Bolton, Sr. They were married for 63 years until Charlie Sr. died in 2017 They worked hard and raised a family including children Charles Bolton Jr. (Ruth Leight) of Pittsboro,NC, Jan Carver of Winchester, Ky and Ben Bolton (Tina) of Winston-Salem. Special friend Laura Graham was also part of the home. Mary spent many hours caring for her children and shuttling them to Scout activities and Little League ball. Mary was employed as a teacher and later principal at Rosemont Baptist School. She enjoyed teaching and seeing her students succeed.
Mary gave and received much love from grandchildren Travis Bolton (Joni), Becca Bolton, Hannah Billings, Grace Bolton, Amanda Janes (Jonathan) and James Carver. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Forrest,Chatham, Sawyer, Adden, Ellie and Reuben.
A memorial service for Mary will be held Saturday February 26 at 2 PM at Rosemont Baptist Church in Winston-Salem.All are welcome. The family would like to thank Clemmons Village 1 for their compassionate care of Mary as her health declined.
