Marvin Winesett

Mr. Marvin Alexander Winesett, 89, passed away, Monday, January 2, 2023, at Universal Health Care in King, NC. He was born March 2, 1933, in Galax, VA to the late Marvin Basil Winesett and Alice Marie Chappell Winesett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mattie Sue Coleman, Claudette Flack, and Sharon Tremble. Mr. Winesett worked as a diesel mechanic and was a veteran of both the United States Army and Navy. He enjoyed living a quiet life with family and friends, bowling, and cheering for his beloved Tarheels. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Walker Winesett; son, Marvin Alan Winesett and his wife Anna Bray Winesett; four grandchildren Aaron Nathaniel Winesett, Thomas Bray Winesett, Lucy Winesett Howard and husband Josiah Howard, and Grace Winesett Graudin and husband Riley Graudin; and one great-grandchild Liya Jane Howard.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM Friday, January 6, 2023, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, 718 North Trade Street, Winston-Salem, NC, 27101.
