Mr. Marvin Albert Smith, 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Salem Terrace Assisted Living in Winston-Salem.
Marvin was born on September 22, 1927 in Caswell County, NC to the late Joe Albert and Ora Hall Smith. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He worked for Western Electric in Burlington and eventually transferred to AT&T in Winston-Salem where he worked until he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Page Smith; his parents; and his sister, Morene Perdue.
Surviving family includes his three children, Pam Richards of Hamptonville, Terry Smith of Elon and Sandra Maness of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Jason Smith of Wilmington, Jeff Richards of Mocksville, Nikki Maness of Winston-Salem, Natasha Faw of Moravian Falls and Jonathan Richards of Hamptonville; nine great-grandchildren, Makayla Smith, Colton Smith and Blake Smith of Wilmington, Courtnie Richards and JT Richards of Mocksville, Calyssa Maness and Journey Maness of Winston-Salem, Kellan Wilcox of Lenoir and CJ Angell of Lenoir; two great-great-grandchildren, Jonathan Beck and Rylee Wilcox; special niece, Beverly Jones; and special friend, Bob. Services will be private at the request of the family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Caregivers at Salem Terrace and the team at Trellis Supportive Care of Winston-Salem for the excellent care they gave to Marvin.
