Marvin Lenny Norris, Jr.

KERNERSVILLE-Marvin L. Norris, Jr. (Lenny) 56, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 08, 2008. He was born September 18, 1952 in Dunn, NC. Lenny was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. He retired in 1991 with 20 years military service with the United States Air Force. Lenny also worked at One-Stop, Greensboro News & Record, Texwipe, and his most recent employment was with Oracle Packaging, and Domino's Pizza . To cherish his memories he leaves his parents, Marvin L. Norris, Sr. (Linwood) and Margie McGhee Norris; his wife of 36 years, Donna; two sons, Michael (Mike) and his girlfriend, Kati, and Samuel (Sam) and his girlfriend, Tiffany; one brother, Rick Norris and wife Taina; one nephew, Cameron Norris; and other relatives and friends. A special part of Lenny's life was his unique Sunday school class. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Haley, and Pastor Jim Saul officiating. Full military burial rites will be conducted by Military Burial Honor Guard, Inc. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville. Lenny loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend to those who knew him. He was a man of few words, but his words stood for what was true. Lenny enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, puzzle books, and just tinkering in his woodshed. We will miss him very much. In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to Oaklawn Baptist Church General Fund, 3500 Kernersville Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
