He was born on January 16, 1928 in Forsyth County as the first child of the late Fred Franklin Hensley and Grace McHargue Hensley. He lived most of his 85 years in the Clemmons area, first at his father's farm on Holder Road, a short time at his family home on Tucker Street in the South Fork area and long term at the family home in Clemmons. A short time later he was recruited out of retirement by Joyce Brothers Company where he worked as a Buyer for three years until retiring for health issues. Altogether, he worked 40 years in the wholesale business. Mr. Hensley's coworkers adopted his childhood nickname, ""Hoss,"" but he was known by all as a truly honest man. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, ""Paw Paw,"" and uncle who shared kindness and wisdom. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Arvel Hensley, sisters, Dorotha Carter and Ella Frye, brothers-in-law, Raymond Frye, Grady Anderson, Albert Jones, and Ray Jones and sisters-in-law, Olene Hensley and June Jones.
