Marthajohn Pencotty

Mrs. Marthajohn Pencotty was born December 29, 1923 in Dallas, TX. and died on April 28, 2010 in Winston Salem, N.C. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph of 61 years. Marthajohn was a talented artist, and early in her career worked as a window and store display artist for Neiman Marcus in Dallas. Later, she completed a master's degree in art education and retired after 20 years of teaching art to high school students in Avon, Connecticut. Marthajohn was a kind person with a big heart and always loved to share what she knew with others. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Blackburn and husband John Hartom, a loving extended family, and many dear friends. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, May 3, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Dale Harlan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
