Martha Marie Sturms

Ms. Martha Marie Sturms, age 88 of Winston-Salem passed away at her home Friday, July 15, 2016. Ms. Sturms was born in Forsyth County, May 27, 1928 to Samuel Asbury Sturms, Sr. and Mattie Lee Emma Galyean Sturms. She was an active member of Marshall Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Martha loved her church family, neighbors and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents Martha was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother, one niece and two nephews. Ms. Sturms is survived by her son, Loyd Earnest Tilley, Jr. of Winston-Salem. Two nieces, two nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews. Two sisters-in-law; Dott Tilley and Betty Tilley. Her beloved and adorable pet cat, Tabbie. Funeral services for Ms. Sturms will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Marshall Baptist Church in Winston-Salem by Rev. John Holmes. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall is serving the Sturms family.
