Martha Schreiner

Mrs. Martha Jean Schreiner, 88, passed away at Arbor Acres, Fitzgerald Center in Winston-Salem, NC on Saturday, February 10, 2018.  She was born on March 30, 1929 to Josephine Bisett and James T. White in Bradford, PA.  Martha earned her B.S. in Nursing in 1950; and a B.A. in Art History in 1974, both from the University of Rochester (NY). She served in a number of professional roles but was most proud of her work as a Career Counselor during the 1970's.  She enjoyed an active lifestyle while her health permitted; playing tennis, serving as a board organizer and as docent at the local art museum. Martha will be remembered for her infectious laugh and loving spirit.  In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bernard F. Schreiner; as well as two sisters; and two brothers.  Surviving are her children, David T. Schreiner (Johanna Jorizzo), Jean M. Boccio (Nicholas), and Jo Tarrant (Matthew); grandchildren, Daniel Schreiner, Elena Schreiner, Aaron Boccio, Michael Tarrant; and a great grandchild, Ayden Boccio.  A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Arbor Acres for their professional and compassionate care; in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arbor Acres.
